Conference Weekend

This conference I was so excited because my parents were able to get us tickets to go to the Sunday afternoon session! It was the first time that I would go and was so to speak my last chance at going since we are leaving the west.  Adam had to work in the morning on Sat so we headed down to Utah early that morning. Connor was a perfect angel the entire time! He had lots of fun playing with Ash and Jess in the car.  Every time they would start to fall asleep he would wake them up by hitting them with a stuffed animal, trying to push them off his car seat, tickling them, or his favorite thing to do to Jess was throw all the food he didn't want on her lap.  Towards the end of the drive he was playing peek-a-boo with me using his blanket to hid from me (I was in the front).  We stayed the weekend with Adam's cousins that live in West Jordan.  They got a new puppy, a German Shepard, that is HUGE.  Connor was pretty scared at first and every time the dog would bark he would cry and run for some one to hold him.  Then he took a few lessons from Karleia and every time the dog came by him Connor would growl at it and it would back away scared.  It was pretty hard to listen to the 2nd session on Sat because Connor was getting into everything, but at least we have technology to listen to it later :)

It was a slow moving afternoon and the boys were playing video games which isn't exactly interesting to watch so my sisters and I took Connor to the park to play.  He had a blast! He loved going down the slide and digging in the mulch.  Usually he is very fussy and whinny around Karleia but she was his BFF that day.  He thought she was hilarious and would crack up laughing so hard he would fall over while playing with her. It was cute and I got a great picture of the 2 of them (something that we don't have many of since he is temperamental).  It got could pretty early so we headed back in. Connor went down for a nap and us girls headed to do some shopping.  I wasn't very impressed with TJ Max or Old Navy.  We went to dinner at Texas Road House and my food was amazing! I had the best mushrooms on my sandwich. It was nice because Connor loves hanging out with Rusty (Adam's cousin) that he sat on his lap through dinner and had a blast picking food off his plate and helping himself.  We discovered that Connor loves salad and pickles. He actually ate the entire pickle!

Sunday morning Adam and I were up at 7 thanks to our little munchkin.  He was playful and every time Adam tried to go back to  sleep Connor would climb on him.  He went into the family room where the girls were sleeping and took Jess's phone. It was pretty funny watching her look for it when she finally woke up. We listened to the morning session because the satellite wasn't working since we woke up to a huge snow storm in April! We left pretty quickly after the first session to head to SLC.  The traffic wasn't that bad at all and we had plenty of time to get to the Conference Center.  We had AMAZING seats! We were right in the middle on the plaza level (which is the first floor) and we were only 4 rows back from the restricted area! It was a great experience to listen to the session and to be in the same room of our great church leaders. The Spirit was so strong, and I was so uplifted and touched by the talks.  I love Conference and the blessing it is to hear the Latter day Prophet of the world and his Apostles lead and guide me to better my life, my family, strengthen my testimony and grow closer to my Savior and Heavenly Father.

We went back to West Jordan and had a family dinner. It was nice that we were able to leave Connor with them and that he had fun playing.  We took a few pictures and hit the road for the long drive back to Rexburg.  Connor was fussy a little on the way home. We had to pull off so that I could switch Ash seats about 2 hours into the trip. It just melts my heart to know that he just wanted to sit by his mommy and that after a few mins of sitting in the back he went from crying hysterically to laughing.  The last 40 mins was rough and he did finally fall asleep 10 mins from home. Ha, go figure.

It has been awhile..

 

We wore Connor out last Sat.  We went to the Body Exhibit in Idaho Falls and it was amazing! I did like the Titanic Exhibit more but this one was still really interesting. They had this childrens room where they had little fetuses in jars. It was amazing to see how tiny  there are and all the bones and blood vessels that are developed.  It made me laugh that something so tiny can make grown women so sick for so many months!

 

It has been a hectic month! Work, school assignments, shooting, Big Juds,Temple, celebrating Ash's 21 birthday, having family over for dinner and so much more! Plus right now we are in the middle of packing up our apartment! There are boxes everywhere and it is a huge mess. Connor is scared of the noise that the tape makes when taping the boxes shut so that makes it a little frustrating. He also loves to unpack everything that we put into the boxes :) haha.

Tomorrow is my last day of work! I am so excited to be done! I have to admit that I will miss my kids they are great people.  Mostly, I am just thrilled. I can't wait to move back to Ohio (even if it is only a little to visit family).  We are moving April 11th which happens to be our two year wedding anniversary.  We'll have no problem finding a sitter to watch Connor for us to celebrate once we get settled because I know that our parents are so anxious to see their precious grand baby! I am a pretty nervous to fly with Connor. I have been doing research on-line to find ways to keep him entertained but let's face it, if he is tired than nothing is going to help.

Adam has been extremely stressed with school projects and papers this last week or so. He has a lot going on and a lot of group work which  makes it hard to coordinate with other people's schedules (doesn't help that most of the people procrastinate to the last minute and he is the type that would rather just get it done and out of the way).  The nice thing is that in a week he will be done with school! Graduation is on Sat the 9th :)  We have decided that it is best to get grad school out of the way.  Adam will start this fall hopefully at the University of Cincinnati for a masters in criminal justice. It is an on-line program which is perfect since we have no idea where well end up living. Adam has been applying like crazy for different jobs.  Just today he applied to 3 in Mi :) I am so grateful that he is so dedicated to finding work!

My sister Ash and I have taken on a sewing project our making some pencil skirts.  It has been a lot harder than I thought just because Connor is impossible to sew with. He gets really mad and throws fits if we block him out of the kitchen and if we don't he wants to play with the pedal to the machine.  The one that we made turned out super cute! We have one more to go.. yes we made matching skirts! But since we will be living in different states its no big deal!


This weekend we are headed to Utah for General Conference! AHH I am so excited to go! Out of the 5 years I have lived out west this is the first time going! We aren't going to head down to Utah till Sat morning since Adam has work. It will be fun to hang out and stay with his cousins while we are there. 

Connor has discovered that he loves drinking out of straws and my water bottle.  The mark in the middle of his forehead is a battle wound with my water bottle. Haha poor baby.

Another one of Connor's favorite thing to do is play in the laundry hampers. He literally plays in it for hours! Check out the video :)

New Adventures

Connor's New Adventures:
Like two weeks ago the weather was really nice outside and one of my clients ditched me so I lots of time to spend with my sweet little family.  Adam and I took Connor on a walk and wanted to let him touch/play with the snow since it was close to 40 (which is very warm for here). 

He was so excited to be back in his stroller. Look at the face! He even brought snacks along for the ride!

He wasn't too thrilled for the snow. Every time we would try to help him touch it he would pull his hand away. I think he'll like it more next year when he can play in it and go sled riding!

If you look real close you can see the huge red bruise on his forehead.  I had the bright idea that it would be super cute to get a video of him walking outside.  Well it was such a bad idea.. he was walking on the side walk that was ramped going down and he fell and bashed his face.  His lip and nose were bleeding and he had a huge bruise on his forehead.  It was so sad and early that day he was trying to run and fell hitting his head on the door frame leaving that Harry Potter like mark down the middle of his forehead. Poor guy!

He had the funniest time putting his cup on the foot rest and playing with it.  I hope the weather gets nicer so we can go on more walks together!

After we came home Connor still wanted to go outside so he climbed into the storage area of the stroller and thought it was so fun :)

Last Tuesday we took Connor to McDonalds for lunch so he could play in the play area. The first thing he did when I put him down was run, or try to, over the balls and started pushing them together. He had a blast playing with a little boy who was a month older than him. They would look at each other and laugh then start talking in their own little language.  When we had him eat he was so busy watching the older kids play in the tunnels and slides that I had to feed him.  We had his cheeseburger ripped into bit size pieces, this little girl walked past and Connor gave her a piece and she took it.  It was seriously so precious that he wanted to share.  Such a little sweetie. 

A few other things that he likes lately are: eating granola bars by taking bites while holding it himself, going on walks outside while holding mommy's hand (he is usually my little helper when I get the mail or take out the trash) and reaching into the cheez-it box to pull out his own snack.  He has been pretty sick this whole week, Mon we took him to the drs for an ear infection then he had to go back fri morning for a fever. He has a virus that is going around and now he has Rosiola (I don't know how to spell it but he has a fever still and a horrible rash all over his torso and face).

Our New Adventures:
Adam is getting so tied down with school work. He has a ton of stuff due in the up coming weeks and is pretty stressed about it.  He also has applied to a few more jobs (all back East).  We are still waiting, for at least 2 more weeks, to hear back to see if he has an interview for the Columbus job and the one in MI.  April 11 we are moving back to Ohio.  We are taking a huge leap of faith that he will find a job and that the Lord will take care of us (which we know He will :)).  We are very anxious and excited to see our families! My dad is flying out to drive the truck back with Adam. Connor and I are flying out! I am glad I don't have to do the long drive and that Connor doesn't have to sit that long because I know that he would drive everyone nuts.  I am pretty nervous to have to fly back with a very active, doesn't like to sit still baby.  One more thing, my mom got us and my sister's conference tickets!! It is my first time going and I am so excited!!

This wasn't at the conference in UT.. but it was in the new BYU-I center in their conference center (which seats like 15,000 people) for a Relief Society conference with Sister Beck! An amazing and uplifting experience!!

Connor's First Birthday!

Ok so it took me way to long to post this but I had a great reason! Most of the pictures were on my sister's cameras and once I got them I had a sick little boy to take care of.  Connor's birthday was on the 17 of Feb.  I was really bummed because I see Connor for maybe 2 hours on Thursdays due to my work schedule.  This was a weird day for me. In the middle of my morning while I was waiting to pick up my 2nd client I had to run to the restroom in the elementary school to throw up.  Needless to say I had to take her home really early (it was so embarrassing because I even got sick in her driveway with her in the back seat!).  The good news from this story is that I had to cancel with my last client of the day and it was like a 6 hour bug. By 4 I was feeling good and playing with my little guy!!

I made Connor this cute little onsie for him to wear on his BIG day! 

We had my sisters come over for dinner.. Spaghetti and garlic bread... Connor ate lots of food :) He didn't get to messy since he is so used to feeding himself all the time.

My mom had such a great idea.  She thought it would be a fun to skype both of our parents since they live in Ohio.  It was a lot of fun because it made it feel like they were a part of his party! Here is Connor watching and talking to his grandparents, aunts and uncles :) He kept going back and forth between the two computer screens!

Connor was so into the computers that getting him to unwrap presents was near impossible! It ended up with Mommy and Daddy opening almost everything for him while he tried to play with the computers. Here are some of the presents that he got:

Auntie Ashy and Mommy made his cake! I think it turned out really cute! We did Mickey Mouse because every morning Connor loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while eating his breakfast.

Connor really wasn't in the mood for cake so he just sat there for the longest time and then we let him feed himself some chocolate ice cream. He liked that better than the cake :)

It was a good birthday party!! :) He got lots of cool presents. He loves all the stuffed animals and cloths and Auntie Jessie drew him a picture of Mickey! He LOVES the baby bugs bunny stuffed animal from Auntie Ash.  Literally he carries it around the apartment and he cuddles with it all the time! It is so hard to believe how big he is and all the things that he can do! At his one month check up he weighed 20 lbs, which is only the 14%, and he was 30 inches long, which is the 53%.  He is so skinny he easily fits into his 3 month pants in the wast but he needs the length of the 12 month pants!

Taking a second to vent..

Lately, I have been having a hard time dealing with my job all because well, I hate almost everything about it.  I hate the fact that it is probably one of the most unreliable jobs ever. Example this morning I wasted 40 mins of my day to drive to a client's house only to be told that she isn't able to work with me today and the parents of almost all of my clients lack the common decency  to call and tell me that there is a change in plans! It would be one thing if this happened once or twice in the almost 2 months that I have been doing PSR but of course that isn't the case. It happens almost weekly and sometimes more than once in a week!! People wonder why they have kids with problems, ever consider it could be because you are a crappy parent? Another thing is I am so sick of putting almost 200 miles on my car EVERY single week! But that is nothing compared to my biggest annoyance and that is not being trained and taught what I am suppose to do for certain aspects of the job and then having people in charge of me that can't grasp the fact of how hard it is to communicate with Spanish only speaking parents when I don't speak Spanish! This last Friday I found out that some paper work that I thought I had all month to do (the reason I thought this was because when I got a phone call telling me I had reviews to do it was said "You have some reveiws that need to be completedin the month of Februray") and the guy in charge that I was talking to was like oh well just call the family after telling him about 7 times that they don't have a working phone. To show how uch he wasn't paying attention to anything I was saying (because I know that he cannot be that dumb) he replied of well how do you usually get in contact with the family, can't you just call them up? Idiot. Why on earth would I every call them what when I say, Hola? and then start speaking English. Wow, what a great plan. SO end of story is I am out 5 hours a week and have to try to figure out how to get this paper work done. Sounds easy  enough minus the fact I don't speak Spanish, they don't have a working phone, the parents aren't home consistantly at the same time, if the parents are home I have no one to translate, I  DON'T get paid trying to do this paperworkand they live 20 mins away which means 40 mins of driving wasting my OWN gas!

Sorry this is such a boring post complaing about a job that I should just be grateful to have since so many people in this economy can't even find work. It just really frustrated me that I finish my 4 year degree to just get a job that I thoroughly hate! Hopefully when Adam graduates in April I can give the much over dued "peace out" to "work" ( I don't want to state the angency that I work for). Hopefully reminding myself and doing a mental count down of only 2 more months will get me through.

Valentine's Day

This year we celebrated Valentines day a little early. My sister Ashley volunteered to babysit for us to go out.  Early in the day we exchanged presents. I made Adam a candy card, got him a shirt and a card saying that he could buy the beanie of his choice.  He really liked his candy card and I think it turned out supper cute :) He made me this really cute coupon book and got me roses and candy.. the first coupon was for an hr long massage at a local spa in Rexburg.  It was funny though because the place is called Stressless so I just thought that Adam was trying to be cute and use a play on words and that he was going to give me an hour long massage so I replied, "love are you even sure your capable of giving me a massage for that long?" Ha and that is when he told me, "No its for an actual massage".  It seriously is the best idea for me because I am always whinning that I need a back massage and now I get to get a professional one!!

 A cute little family picture before we headed out on our date and left Connor with Auntie Ashy and Auntie Jessie.  We were planning on going out to Olive Garden but when we got there at 530 there was a 75 minute wait. No thank you.  We went to Chili's instead and we were the last couple to be seated (even got a booth table!) before there was a wait. Talk about luck.  We had a nice dinner just the two of us :) Afterward we went to the movies and watched the newest Narnia movie. It was really good! We had a great date night and it was nice being able to go out with just the two of us!!

I promise that I did not wear this hoodie out on our date. HA I did however change into as soon as we got home, nothing wrong with being comfy at home, right?

To sum it up we had a wonderful date, a wonderful "Valentines Day" and we are still very much and love and have a wonderful marriage. With a wonderful little boy. Life is close to perfect! (Of course it would be perfect if we knew what was happening in 2 months and if I didn't have a lame-o job).

Counting down..

Adam graduates at the end of this semester in April and I cannot wait! I really hope that he has a job lined up because I am already counting down the days until we are able to move out of Rexburg and I am able to quit PSR work.  I like my job on some days but just last week alone I had 3 kids miss out on our meetings so that means there goes 7 hours I wont get paid!! On top of that I am tired of racking up miles on our car. It's close to 200 every single week!! Ahh, but hopefully only 9 more weeks!

Connor is seriously getting cuter and cuter everyday! He is the pro at walking and walks around the entire apartment! It is so precious watching him walk around! I cant believe how big my little baby is getting!! He loves little stuffed animals (he likes to put them in his mouth and walk around) and he loves cuddling up in blankets while rolling on the floor. Last night Adam and I laughed so hard watching him play.  He has a fisher price table that has all sorts of toys with music and lights on it and he prolly spent 20 mins just pushing it all across to living room, then he tried to move our coffee table and just kept pushing.  He seemed so confused as why he wasn't strong enough to move it.  He loves feeding himself and always tries to help hold the spoon.  We always just feed him whatever we are having for dinner and boy, he can eat a ton when he wants too!!

The other day Adam was at school and I was home with Connor.  I gave him a bath, got him dressed and had to take away books and dvds he wasn't suppose to play with (along with not letting him pull my hair and bounce on the edge of the couch) and every single time I would say "No Connor" he would look  at me and scream "ah DA DA DAD DAD".  Haha it was so funny and made it hard not to laugh at him but he was screaming for his daddy to come save him from mean mommy.

One more thing about that little sweet baby of mine, he loves loves loves playing with my hair! He gets so excited when I wear it down (which isn't that often).  He grabs it and pulls all the strands apart and then rubs his face in my hair.  Every time he puts my hair in his face he just cuddles up to it and laughs.  It really is cute and most of the time it is really fun! But there are the times that he pulls the really sensitive pieces really hard. Like today in Sunday school when he pulled one of those strands and I yelled out "OUCH" so loud in the middle of the lesson that people turned around to look at me. 

We have so many unknowns in our near future that without the gospel I would be going crazy.  We are really praying that Adam gets a job right after graduation and that we are able to move. IF that happens it shouldn't be too long (6 months or so) until we would be able to get a house and be done with renting, but who knows.  Lately Adam is looking into the army. I don't know how I feel about this and he doesn't even know if he could do Military Police with his eye sight.  SO we have a lot of research, praying and fasting to do to see if this is even an option if he isn't offered a job somewhere.

 We bought Connor a potty chair! He doesn't know what is going on still but he did pee in it once for us!! We aren't really trying to potty train him seriously yet, not until he's closer to a year and a half.. so like end of summer time!
