Packing, once again..

Adam and I packed up all of our belongings that were at his house and we moved them down to Massillon Aug 9th. The next couple of days flew by! The next day we spent getting things organized at my parents' house. My sister Athena and her 3 kids came over to visit for a couple hours. It was nice getting to see them before we moved and we were able to get pictures.  We had a family dinner at my grandparents house. It was really nice because we were able to visit with my Uncle Donnie who was visiting from TX. It has been forever since I have seen him and it was Adam's (and Connor's) first time meeting him.  Our visit was cut short bc our munchkin was super grumpy and needed a nap!
All of us siblings and our kids (minus Jess because she was at work)

Thursday we got up early and picked up the moving truck.  It didn't take nearly as long as we thought to load it up. We headed over to my Grandma K's house with my family and packed all of our things. The number one thing that I will remember the next time we move is not to over pack the boxes! Some of the boxes were so heavy that two people struggled to carry them and they were bulging at the sides. It is saying something if it is hard for my dad to pick up a box!  We finished everything in only 2 hours! After we showered and got some lunch, Adam had to drive back up to stow to get a physical for work and Connor and I went to visit with my Grandma. It was good because Connor was very playful with her.

That night I went to dinner with my high school friend Stephanie. It was good getting to see her again before leaving Ohio.  When I got home Adam and I went bought all the kids ice cream cones. It was a little way of saying thank you for all the help that they gave us.

That Thurs was a little hard because my grandpa was in the hospital. He has been having a lot of health problems lately.  He was filling up with water weight ( gained 20 lbs in only a few days) and they were afraid it was going to harm his heart and lungs. My mom, aunts and uncles all went up to the hospital with to support my grandparents. Luckily he was able to come home that Mon and is doing better but he still has his bad days. They found out that his liver is bad, I don't remember what it is called but basically his liver is the same as if he was a heavy drinker even though he never drank in his life.  There isn't a cure for him and he isn't a likely candidate for a liver transplant...

Goodbye Ohio... Hello Kentucky

Adam got a job! We are moving to Paducah KY in 2 weeks! We are so happy that we have a job lined up and that we are able to get to the next phase of our life :) I am so proud of Adam and all the time and effort that he put into finding a job where he is able to use his college degree! He has applied to so many jobs (seriously, like 300 plus) and all of his hard work paid off. I know that this is an answer to our many prayers and the many prayers of our family and friends. We starts work on the 16th of Aug and we are going to be busy getting things ready until then. This Tues we have to drive down so that he is able to do a drug  test and then we need to find a place to live. We already have a few places that we have on a list to check out! Then the next weekend is the big move. We are so happy that our families are able to help out with that..

... Now off to celebrate with some Handle's ice cream :)

July 4th.... Weekend!

Connor loves loves loves playing w Uncle Larry

Friday was Joey's 7th birthday! After Adam had to go to work, my mom and I took the kids to the little pool at the park.  They all had so much fun! Connor was having a blast. He is WAY to daring in the water.  The nice thing was that it is just a wading pool so the whole thing is only a foot deep, but still it was a little scary. He would try to bend down and eat the water and end up choking.  Next time we go we are def bringing him a little floaty.

Connor was sick the rest of the weekend.  Adam and I had planned to take him to see some fireworks on Sat night but he was whinny the entire day and ended up falling asleep at 830.  That night he woke up with a fever of 102 and ended up spending the night in bed with us. The only way that he could sleep was if he was curled up on my chest. Sunday Connor and I stayed home from church.  We spent most of the day sitting together in the rocking chair.  Once his Tylenol kicked in he would try to play but you could tell he just felt so miserable! He would cry if I left the room even if he didn't want to sit on my lap. Poor thing. Sunday night both of the grandparents came over and we had cake for Joeys birthday.

Mon was the 4th and the day was a little hectic.  Adam had to be to work at 3 and my dad needed to get sleep before he had to work the night shift which meant we needed to do our cookout early. We had steak, potato salad and pasta salad.  Adam's family was coming over too but we ended up eating without them so Adam wasn't rushed bc they were running an hour late.  Connor was still not feeling well, his temp every time the meds wore off spiked back up to 102. We decided to rotate him on Ibuprofen and Tylenol and that seemed to help. He fought his nap and then finally fell asleep at 445.  The nap was much needed bc he was in a much better mood when he woke up! I decided to take him to the fireworks, and he was so good for me. He basically hung out in his sling/carrier the whole time which made it easy to keep him out of trouble.  He loved watching the fireworks and sat on my lap the whole time.  He got a little scared with the first one but the next one he loved. I taught him to help clap his hands  and he started doing it on his own every time they shot off! After about ten mins into it he started getting really sleepy (after we got home we realized it was partly bc his fever was back) that he started falling asleep between the fireworks! It was too cute! Sadly when we got home his temp was 104! I felt so bad for him! As soon as we gave him his meds it only took like 2 mins of rocking him and he was asleep.

PS- A funny story about my grandpa. My aunt sue brought cupcakes to the fireworks and he had one (by this point it was dark) that he was going to eat while sitting in the truck. Well, he felt something hard on the top and decided to try to bit it. That didn't work, so thinking that it was candy he stuck the whole thing in his mouth and started trying to chew it. Ha after a few mins he took it out, thinking that the candy must be bad. That was when he realized it was a ring!! HAHA so funny!

PSS- On Sat night my sister Ashley got engaged!! YAY! We are so happy for her and Micah! :) :)

Goodbye Bottles!

We have been really bad about breaking Connor from his bottle. He was doing really well when he first turned one and he would only drink water from it. Then he had the flu and we had to keep him hydrated and he only wanted his bottle. After that he refused to take water in his bottle and wouldn't sleep without it.  So we just limited him to having it at night and for naps.  Well this whole week he has been bottle free!! We have been wanting to do it sooner but it took him awhile to adjust to living with our families and going back and forth between the two houses.  We asked my mom what the best way to break him was and she said to just take it away. Sunday was the first day without it and he fell  asleep by me rocking him, that night it took about 40 mins to get him to sleep but now he is usually asleep in like 15! Naps are a little harder because he fights it till the last min but he is getting better! It is so hard to believe how big he is!!

Employment..

Adam started a job doing security at Deibold last Wed.  It isn't his favorite job but we are so grateful that he has work! He works in the afternoons during the week and days during the weekend. It is hard that he has off Tues and Wed because that means he isn't able to go to church. The job is a little boring and we were hoping to find something better for him since he is out of college but it is a blessing that it will keep us from draining out bank account.

He ended up not getting the job that he went down to KY for but they had another post that night when we got home that he applied for. He had an interview yesterday on the phone. It was cool because before he even started they told him the top people would have to take a test and that he already made arrangments for Adam to take it by Cincinatti since it is the side of Ky by us (4 hours away is way better than 8).  Needless to say, they called him back an hour after his interview to tell him they wanted him to test,  he goes this Tues. He is only against 2 other people. Hopefully this is the job that the Lord has planned for us!! IF not, then I guess we need to keep being patient and have faith that there is a better one coming soon!

Road trip to Kentucky,

Adam had an interview in Paducah KY the Monday after Father's day. I was driving down with him because it was 9 hours away! We had to leave around 3 on Father's day.  We left Connor to stay with my family.  It was hard because this was the first time that I was ever away from him over night.  The trip there wasn't too bad at all. Time went pretty quickly and even at 9 it didn't seem that late because the sun was still shining! We weren't planning on getting to the hotel until 12, but boy did we have a nice surprise! The western part of the state is in central time! We got to the hotel a little after 11. I only had one little break down and cried when my mom said that Connor was asleep.  It just made me sad that I wasn't there when he fell asleep and I wouldn't see him all of the next day. It was so nice because we were both up by 8 and felt great! We ate breakfast in the hotel and were on our way to his interview.

Adam looked so handsome:

While I was waiting for him to get done I drove around the city and spent some time at wal-mart.  As soon as he was done we were back on the road. What should have only been a 7 1/2 hour drive turned into 9 1/2 because of all the traffic.  For an hour and a half we were at stand still traffic. The drivers were horrible that day too.  I feel asleep for a few mins and woke up to a car almost merging into us! I tried to go back to sleep a few hours later and it happened again! That did it, scared me to death, I gave up sleeping the rest of the trip. We finally made it home close to 10 that night! Man, we were so ready for bed! Connor ended up falling asleep in bed with us!

Us in the traffic jam and then Cincinnati welcome back to Ohio!

Father's Day

Adam and I were staying at his families house the weekend of father's day.  The sat before we went to brunch at Bob Evan's and then later that day we went fishing. We started out with Connor there but that didn't last long. It was too hot and there wasn't much that kept his attention. I ended up driving him back home and he hung out with his Nanny.  Everyone had a pretty fun time, the fish were really little and almost everyone caught some.  Mason caught at least 15 fish, it felt like every time he put his hook in the water within seconds he would have a fish.  I only caught 2, the one fell off of the hook before i could reel it up all the way and the other one, the poor fish was caught under neath his gill! Adam only caught one and it fell of the hook as well. We were sharing a pole so I think we had the wrong type of hook  or something.  Later that night we just relaxed around home and played Blockus.

Sunday morning we went to church and they had really good talks.  It was nice because Nanny took Connor during Sunday school so I was able to stay in all of class. During RS he was such an angel.  He played with his toys and only got fussy the last 5 mins. Of course it helped that I gave him a sucker.  Adam got a bottle of rootbeer and popcorn for Father's day and then bc he was the youngest dad in the ward he got a 2 litter bottle as well.

After church we went home and started to get things ready for dinner. My family came down and we had all sorts of food. The men all had steak (well Adam's dad had fish) :) IT was funny bc Ken and Larry was willing to cook all the steak but Adam wanted to do his own. I guess if that is what he wanted then he should be allowed since it was his day!  We weren't able to stay long bc Adam and I needed to get on the road to head to KY!

Overall I think that Adam had a good day! Same with our dads!
